Grey Gardens is a 1975 American documentary by Albert and David Maysles.
The film depicts the everyday lives of two reclusive socialites. A mother and daughter, both named Edith Beale. ('Little Edie' was a first cusin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis). They lived at Grey Gardens, a derelict mansion in the wealthy neighborhood of East Hampton, New York.
A movie based on their lives was made in 2009, staring Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. If you get a chance, do watch it. Both actors are amazing in their roles as mother and daughter.
